In the current employment market place employers are starting to ask applicants to provide a variety of documents related to their application. These documents can include CVs / Resumes, Cover Letters, Supporting or Personal Statements as well as a completed application form.
At CVpal we always recommend sending your CV with a covering letter introducing yourself and also outlining the reasons for your application. The cover letter should cover certain aspects:
1. The job role you are applying for ( including any job reference number, date advertised and how you saw the advert i.e. name of website / newspaper etc).
2. A very brief outline of your career history; it is important not to repeat your CV therefore short overview will suffice.
3. Highlight your key skills.
4. Your availability for work and interviews.
Keep your cover letter brief, to the point and polite. As mentioned it is imperative that you do not repeat the wording in your cv.
We hope the above has helped and if you want further information about writing a cv, cover letter, supporting statement then contact CVpal on 01908 586393 or visit our website www.cvpal.co.uk
Thanks and good luck in your job search!!!
