Personal Statements

More and More Personal / Supporting Statements being requested by employers!

In the last 6 months more and more personal statements have been requested by our clients in comparison to cvs and cover letters.... why is this and what is a personal statement???

Well, to answer this we need to evaluate the exact application process that has been requested for you to complete. A personal (sometimes called supporting) statement really is meant to do exactly what it says - support your application. Therefore top tips to write a winning personal / supporting statement are:
1. Answer and address each job requested skills and criterea individually providing reasons why you are able to do that skill and provide evidence from past employment of when you have successfully delivered the required skill.
2. Make the statement as clear and concise as possible.
3. Follow their format - if they have used bullet points etc to get individual points across - do the same.
4. Finally, remember to state why you want the job, there is nothing wrong with praising the organsiation / employer - i.e "I would be very proud to work for ....... etc etc..."

We can always help you evaluate and analyse the job desciption so you get it spot on!
